Quotations Propaganda

http://www.overalltech.net/pub/Quotations-Propaganda.pdf  Choose four quotes that you like and understand from this document (identify them by number you don't have to write them all out). Choose one of the four quotes from this document to analyze. Don't just pick the first one. You need to find one that you understand and can analyze in depth, using real world or personal examples as support for your views. Be sure to relate what they are saying to what we are talking about in terms of propaganda, persuasion, rhetoric, and argument.

My Four Quotes: #340, 343, 355, and 359

Quote 359: "To make rancid food edible, chefs douse it with spices. To make horrible things palatable to the public, it’s necessary to dress them up in euphemism."

This quote is saying that you need both rhetoric and argument to get a point accross. You may have a bad basis (rancid food), but if you cover it up then people won't pay attention to whats underneath all the "fluff". I have had classmates who have missed project parts they were responsible for, and that is how they have presented their explanation to their group. They are trying to persuade the group to understandt their arguement so that, they wouldn't get in so much trouble. Using euphemism is a sort of rhetoric that also allows for propaganda.
